Wave 5 Unboxing – Young Bronze, Drizzt, and Red Dracolich
Young Bronze Dragon
Legion Builder Updated in honor of the Queen of the Evil Dragons
Quick update, if by ‘quick’ I mean ‘crikey this card was a pain in the neck’.
- Queen of the Evil Dragons should now correctly deal with Breath Weapons not taking up slots.
It will add new empty Dragon slots when you have Queen and breath weapons equipped. For now, it won’t allow you to unequip Queen if there are any breath weapons equipped, even if there are enough empty Dragon slots. We’ll fix that later if we can, to make it less confusing.
Other fixes to bugs sent in by readers:
- Haste’s cost should now work again, after disappearing briefly.
- Aerobat Amulet cost is now correct for Adult Bronze Dragons.
- Fixed a typo with Tiamat.
WizKids @ The Game Manufacturers Association Trade Show
Images from the GAMA Trade Show, which runs from March 16th through 20th, have been floating around the web for the last few days. These images have given us some additional information.
We’ve tried to collect it here:
First, let’s start with the next Premium figure, Bahamut!
The Bahamut figure can be seen over at figures.com (along with lots of other figures)
If you zoom in on that image and squint a bit, you can make out some of the details for Bahamut:
He has 3 Dragon Upgrade slots, 1 Arcane Upgrade slot, and 1 Divine Upgrade slot, a Primary Weapon Value of 6, an Agility of 0, 10 Health, and 4 Armor. He has Dodge, Feint, Target, and Concentrate on his Action bar and his unique ability is:
All other friendly Good Creatures within
Range 1 of Bahamut roll +1 attack die.
So Bahamut seems like he would work best as a team player in a large Legion. Of course, he is another figure on the huge 6″ by 6″ base, so there’s limited room on the battlefield for allies … there’s also limited room on a 120 point Legion, as Bahamut costs 84 before you give him any upgrades.
There have been quite a few other pictures which reveal information. Over on boardgamegeek.com, user Michael Van Biesbrouck apparently has much better eyes than me and has pulled this information from the pictures:
[Adult] White dragon upgrades sitting on the shelf: Vicious (disables upgrades of your victims — probably from melee, but covered), Frozen, Evil Sorcerer (4-point dragonrider that will add an extra Arcane slot and has a 3DT ability I couldn’t make out) and Brooch of Shielding (3-point campaign artifact; +2 defence dice against spells and protection from Magic Missile).
Young Blue [Dragon]: 3/1/3/1 stats at level 4. Evade, target and concentrate.
Pegasus: 3/3/4/0 at level 12 (36 points, Bellatoris?), level 7 (28 points) for the generic. Evade, charge and feint … wonder how it will deal damage. 4 Monster slots. Name has +? defence dice against ranged attacks.
Adult White [Dragon]: 4/1/5/1 at level 8 with the ability to turn a concentrate into a hit; evade, charge and target. 3 Dragon and 1 Arcane slots.
Water Cult Warrior: 3/2/4/0 at level 9, all actions except charge.
Earth Cult Warrior Level 7, 3/1/?/? evade/charge/target.
WizKids also talked about its upcoming Organize Play events, including DNDAW:
So we know we’re getting an Earth Genasi Fighter and an Air Elemental as prizes for the July and August Elemental Evil Organized Play tournaments.
Here’s a picture (original source unknown, but found on Facebook), just because I think the Pegasus looks cool:
Tiamat added to Legion Builder
Premium 1: Tiamat has been added to the Legion Builder!
D&D Attack Wing National Championship + Designer Meet & Beat
A few weeks back, WizKids announced their US National Championship would take place on April 11-12, 2015 in Glen Burnie, Maryland at Games and Stuff.
WizKids will be having tournaments for Dice Masters, Heroclix, Star Trek Attack Wing, and Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing, as well as other events (see the event list).
The Prize Structure for the DNDAW US Championship looks like this:
- The Winner will receive:
- An invitation to the 2015 Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing World Championship
- A Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing Bahamut Premium Figure
- Top 2 will receive:
- A Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing Tiamat Premium Figure
- Top 4 will receive:
- A Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing Silver Dragon Premium Figure
In addition to the tournament, the Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing designers, Andrew Parks and Manny O’Donnell will be attending on Sunday, April 12th for a Meet and Greet Sunday morning, and, as a bonus prize to participants in the tournament, two random players who did not make the Top 4 will be selected to compete with Andrew or Manny in a game of Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing!
If they win, they will get an opportunity to work with Andrew and Manny to create a new Upgrade Card that will be released in a future Dungeons and Dragons Attack Wing product!
The Meet and Greet is scheduled for 10am (EST) and the designers will be signing game items if desired.
The match is scheduled for 2pm, or whenever the tournament Swiss rounds are over. The Format is 120 point constructed Legion.
The DungeonMaster and I will also be there, though in no official capacity, but we’ll be around during both the Meet and Greet and the match, so let us know if you use DNDAW.com, we’d love to hear from you!
We could also, if desired, bring a list of questions for those of you who can’t make it.
So, what do you need to know? What questions do you have for Andrew or Manny (or us)?
(Besides the poop token question, it’s already on the list)
In related news … Wizards/Wiz Kids announce Elemental Evil line of miniatures
As you may or may not know, Wizards of the Coast and Wiz Kids recently announced a new line of minis, this time focusing on Elemental Evil: http://dnd.wizards.com/products/tabletop-games/miniatures/minis_elementalevil
Since some of the same figures used in the first few waves of Attack Wing were also in the previous line of minis (Tyranny of Dragons) were also used for Attack Wing, it seems likely some of this line will be used as well.
The release date was today (March 4th) and several D&D fan sites have been building lists and galleries of images of the figures.
I’ve found a bunch of incomplete lists, but the first complete list (with images) I’ve found was at MiniatureMarket.com.
A glance through the figures, and we can already see some of the figures that will be coming out for Attack Wing. The OP prizes Hieracosphinx and Solar Angel are both from this set, and a couple of the dragons look familiar (though there also seems to be some new poses for some dragons that have already made appearances).
I think my favorite might be the the Gnoll I posted above. What’s yours?
Pop over to MiniatureMarket.com to take a look at the new figures, but if you’re looking for a simple list to copy and paste, here’s one:
