Additionally, we’ve added a new feature and made a change to an existing one.

New: Maximum Cost. You have one more slot to fill and only 3 points left? Set the maximum cost to 3 and get only the cards you can afford. Use it with the other filters for even more control.

The set list used to be sorted by the order the expansions came out in, however with so many expansions out now, we thought it would be easier to navigate through the list if it were alphabetical, so now it is!

Wave 12 Sneak Peek!

Dragonfly and I cornered Andrew Parks and Manny O’Donnell and got them to let us take a few pictures of one of the Wave 12 expansions:

WizKids @ The Game Manufacturers Association Trade Show

Images from the GAMA Trade Show, which runs from March 16th through 20th, have been floating around the web for the last few days. These images have given us some additional information.

We’ve tried to collect it here:

First, let’s start with the next Premium figure, Bahamut!

The Bahamut figure can be seen over at figures.com (along with lots of other figures)

Bahamut

Bahamut, image from figures.com

If you zoom in on that image and squint a bit, you can make out some of the details for Bahamut:

He has 3 Dragon Upgrade slots, 1 Arcane Upgrade slot, and 1 Divine Upgrade slot, a Primary Weapon Value of 6, an Agility of 0, 10 Health, and 4 Armor. He has Dodge, Feint, Target, and Concentrate on his Action bar and his unique ability is:

All other friendly Good Creatures within

Range 1 of Bahamut roll +1 attack die.

So Bahamut seems like he would work best as a team player in a large Legion. Of course, he is another figure on the huge 6″ by 6″ base, so there’s limited room on the battlefield for allies … there’s also limited room on a 120 point Legion, as Bahamut costs 84 before you give him any upgrades.

There have been quite a few other pictures which reveal information. Over on boardgamegeek.com, user Michael Van Biesbrouck apparently has much better eyes than me and has pulled this information from the pictures:

[Adult] White dragon upgrades sitting on the shelf: Vicious (disables upgrades of your victims — probably from melee, but covered), Frozen, Evil Sorcerer (4-point dragonrider that will add an extra Arcane slot and has a 3DT ability I couldn’t make out) and Brooch of Shielding (3-point campaign artifact; +2 defence dice against spells and protection from Magic Missile).

Young Blue [Dragon]: 3/1/3/1 stats at level 4. Evade, target and concentrate.

Pegasus: 3/3/4/0 at level 12 (36 points, Bellatoris?), level 7 (28 points) for the generic. Evade, charge and feint … wonder how it will deal damage. 4 Monster slots. Name has +? defence dice against ranged attacks.

Adult White [Dragon]: 4/1/5/1 at level 8 with the ability to turn a concentrate into a hit; evade, charge and target. 3 Dragon and 1 Arcane slots.

Water Cult Warrior: 3/2/4/0 at level 9, all actions except charge.

Earth Cult Warrior Level 7, 3/1/?/? evade/charge/target.

WizKids also talked about its upcoming Organize Play events, including DNDAW:

Elemental Evil Organized Play

So we know we’re getting an Earth Genasi Fighter and an Air Elemental as prizes for the July and August Elemental Evil Organized Play tournaments.

Here’s a picture (original source unknown, but found on Facebook), just because I think the Pegasus looks cool:

In related news … Wizards/Wiz Kids announce Elemental Evil line of miniatures

As you may or may not know, Wizards of the Coast and Wiz Kids recently announced a new line of minis, this time focusing on Elemental Evil: http://dnd.wizards.com/products/tabletop-games/miniatures/minis_elementalevil

gnollSince some of the same figures used in the first few waves of Attack Wing were also in the previous line of minis (Tyranny of Dragons) were also used for Attack Wing, it seems likely some of this line will be used as well.

The release date was today (March 4th) and several D&D fan sites have been building lists and galleries of images of the figures.

I’ve found a bunch of incomplete lists, but the first complete list (with images) I’ve found was at MiniatureMarket.com.

A glance through the figures, and we can already see some of the figures that will be coming out for Attack Wing. The OP prizes Hieracosphinx and Solar Angel are both from this set, and a couple of the dragons look familiar (though there also seems to be some new poses for some dragons that have already made appearances).

I think my favorite might be the the Gnoll I posted above. What’s yours?

Pop over to MiniatureMarket.com to take a look at the new figures, but if you’re looking for a simple list to copy and paste, here’s one:

Chimera (OP5 Prize) Preview Video and some silliness …

That Teri Girl is still going strong, with another preview of another Organized Play prize:

Chimera:

While we wait for the cards to go up into the Legion Builder …

Burning Ballista, Swooping Dragon is also proud to present to you a one-act performance by the Chimera:

Goathead played by … Chimera’s goat head.
Dragonhead played by … Chimera’s dragon head.
Lionhead played by … Chimera’s lion head.

The scene opens with the lovely chimera flying home after a successful hunt.

GOATHEAD is humming and begins to sing.

GOATHEAD: Chim Chimera, Chim Chimera, Chim Chim, Cher-ee …

DRAGONHEAD, growling: No.

LIONHEAD, rolling his eyes: Oh, please. Not again.

DRAGONHEAD, carefully enunciating each syllable: It’s Kai-mare-ah.

GOATHEAD, now grinning: Keymera?

DRAGONHEAD, frowning: KAI-mare-ah.

GOATHEAD, slowly, over-enunciating the word: Cam-er-a?

LIONHEAD, pleading with DRAGONHEAD: Don’t let him bait you, Dragonhead …

DRAGONHEAD, screeching in fury: KAI-MARE-AH!”

LIONHEAD, threatening: I swear, I will steer you both into the next mountainside!

GOATHEAD, glances over LIONHEAD’S head at DRAGONHEAD, catching DRAGONHEAD’s eye.

GOATHEAD, smirking: Whoa there, Kitty Perry, are we gonna hear you roar?

LIONHEAD, roaring: DO NOT CALL ME THAT!

GOATHEAD, with a falsely apologetic face: I’m sorry, didn’t mean to get your Goat!

DRAGONHEAD, snickering and grinning at GOATHEAD: Yeah, we’re sorry, we didn’t mean to let this argument … DRAGON!

GOATHEAD, giggling then yelling: Don’t horn in on my joke!

LIONHEAD, rolling his eyes in frustration: Why am I stuck with you two?

DRAGONHEAD, grinning at LIONHEAD now: We’re sorry, Liono, you know we’re manely joking.”

There is silence for a few long seconds as the Chimera flies majestically.

GOATHEAD, whispering with a loud, exaggerated whisper: We’re not really sorry … we were lion …

LIONHEAD whimpers.

END SCENE.

Oh look, cards are ready.

Torquo and the Chimera Predator plus these Upgrades have been added:

Corrosive Breath
Demonic Assault
Aggressive Surge
Multitasker
Iron Will

Hieracopshinx (OP4 Prize) Preview Video

That Teri Girl is back again, with another preview of another Organized Play prize:

Here are the cards (and, oh look, they’re in the Legion Builder already!):

Wave OP4 – Hieracosphinx:

Seti-Ram and the Hieracosphinx Mauler plus these Upgrades have been added:

Teri, where is the OP3 prize video?

More pictures from Toy Fair 2015

The folks over at ICv2 have some nice close-up pics on their web page. Give them some traffic love for sharing. Thanks to Raviv for pointing these out to us!

New D&D Elemental Evil minis (note that any of these could end up being figures used for Attack Wing)

More new D&D Elemental Evil minis (note that any of these could end up being figures used for Attack Wing)

Some of the figures recently revealed by Tom Vassel:

Gold Dragon

Gargoyle

Stone Giant

Young Bronze Dragon

Drow Elf Ranger

Red Dracolich

Our first returning figure, from the look of it:

White Dragon – note that he is not labeled an Ancient White Dragon though … (now this actually correctly points at the white dragon …)

and some new figures for Attack Wing:

Shield Dwarf Fighter – why does he fight shields? Did one kill his father?

Pegasus

Young Blue Dragon

Earth Cult Warrior

Water Cult Warrior

I think the Young Blue is still my personal favorite.

Spoilers about upcoming Organized Play events

Over on a German forum for DNDAW, “Dragon’s Hollow”  (apologies to my German friends if I’ve butchered that), a retailer has revealed that an upcoming chapter of Organized Play is titled “Elemental Evil.”

Hmm …

Wizards of the Coast recently updated their Elemental Evil webpage, but it does not yet contain any hints as to what might be joining the Attack Wing universe on the page. It does have a link to the WizKids minis page, that so far, there’s been no official notice of EE tie-ins yet.

Of course, sharp-eyed fans have spotted some interesting figures in the wild:

Zoom in on that image and it looks like there’s a “Water Cult Warrior” in the upper left and some sort of “Dwarf Fighter” on the bottom left, plus a good look at the Pegasus and a wee little Blue Dragon!

“Enhance!” (/mad typing on keyboard) “Zoom in a little more?” (/really hammering on keyboard)

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

(Drat. Our crack engineering team tells me just yelling enhance and typing doesn’t magically enlarge and sharpen pictures …)

What kind of Dwarf Fighter is that? Someone guessed Gold. Runed maybe?

What’s your favorite of the newly discovered critters?

I like the tiny blue dragon, myself. I will name him George and I will  love him and hug him …

Wave 3 Mini-Preview

It took us a few days to clean up the mess Santagos left behind, but now that we have, I thought we could take a look at what is coming in Wave 3.

This information has been available for a while now, but recent conversations made it clear to me that not everyone knows what’s coming next, so let’s talk about it!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

We’ve got a Harpy expansion, a Silver Dragon expansion, and finally a Wyvern expansion. Images obtained from solicitation sheets.

I’m looking forward to the Silver Dragon the most, but I’m hoping the unique Harpy is named “Shirley” so I can make a “Wyvern and Shirley”* Legion!

Wave 3 is currently expected in January, so hopefully we won’t have to wait long for these units to fly into stores!

* trust me, it’s funny. Go ask your parents!
